Katie + Spencer · Engagement Session · Marble, Colorado Photographer

I know people usually don’t think to schedule their shoots during winter, but it can be SO beautiful. I’m always down to throw on my snow boots and winter gear to go out and capture your beauty in a snowy landscape.

While winter can limit location accessibility (since it’s either hard to get to or access certain areas without the proper gear), it can also make some locations come alive. The mountainous landscapes are pure magic in the winter months, a true winter wonderland!

When Katie and Spencer told me about his family cabin in Marble, I was already in love with the idea of these photos. On the day of the shoot, after walking on a frozen lake (and water filling up around our feet 😬), exploring around some old buildings with giant marble pillars, falling into multiple feet of snow, and standing on the deck overlooking the mountains.. we decided to bring the shoot inside for some cozy cabin feels.
His parents built this cabin in the mountains 20 years ago, and it is incredibly special to them. A home is so much more than a beautiful building, it’s a sanctuary. A place to find peace and a space to escape the world and settle into the warm arms of a loved one with some hot tea while the sun sets behind the mountains.

I feel so lucky to have been able to shoot in this beautiful cabin with this amazing couple + adorable pup. Being welcomed into people’s sanctuaries is an honor. Thank you to Katie and Spencer for letting me take these special photos!
Just so y’all know, I am always always always down to shoot photos in a place that’s special to you. Whether it’s in your home, on the mountain where you got engaged, on your families property, in your favorite restaurant, in the bar you met, etc. There’s no limit to the photos that can be created in places that are held near and dear to our hearts ♡

P.S. Always bring your furbabies.
